Expenditure | |
o It was suggested that a £50 deposit be taken from members borrowing kit to be cashed in the event that there is difficulty in obtaining payment later o New rules for expenditures o £20 max for reimbursement without Committee permission o All other potential expenditure to be sent to the President in advance for approval (in conjunction with the Treasurer) or referral to a Committee Meeting o While on a trip, a maximum of £200 can be spent, but only after thetrip organizer has left messages with the DO, President, and/or Treasurer o A receipt is always necessary for reimbursement o George, Alex, and Glyn will straighten out Treasurer pack | |
Training | |
o It was suggested that Theory Training should be undertaken over two weekends in house o Goal is to have all Novices trained to Ocean Diver for Christmas trip o Suggested that we use a lake down Abington Road for Open Water training o If there are more people than we can handle we can contract out o It was suggested that we organize a “Try Dive” for potential members o Alex, Paul, and the Training Officer will start calling to book Pool, to get a price before Fresher’s Fair o Kieran will try send out an eMail about the Minibus Course + First Aid Course o Alex will organize IFC in September and try to recruit people to get qualified; he will also try to get Sports Fed to pay | |
Finances | |
o Kieran, George, and Alex will be signatories on the Club Bank Account o Receipts will come to Alex in first instance o Cheques to pay into Account will also go to Alex at Lincoln College | |
Membership | |
o Only Club members can a)rent kit, b)go on a Club boat o Temporary club membership to be £5 per day o Kieran will put up a list of members a)now; b)after October o We will consider the year a success if we end with 60 members o Freeze membership fees, except for students (reduce to £30) o Aim for Pub night every Sunday night after Fresher’s Fair; for now we will have Pub night after every Club Committee Meeting | |
Club Boat | |
o Antony to sort out “petrol & cylinder” situation. He can keep the gas cylinders if he's interested o Checklist for boat maintenance to stay on boat and be posted in hut; should be used before and after every boat use o Keep boat but cover costs by encouraging people to organize boat trips o Committee members should organize trips using boat whenever possible o New boat cost to be £100 per day in water o Boat handling courses – boat use will be free o DO will write guidelines for trips o Boat will only go out to one person who is responsible for both checklists and reporting state of boat after trip o The person responsible for the boat will not be liable for any damages to the boat as long as all damage is reported o No dive cox will be needed on trips o DO will decide in advance on who is acceptable as a boat driver o Boat officer should check that everything associated with the boat that is stored in Oxford is returned after every trip o Alex will sort out boat insurance for risks while it is being towed | |
Club Kit | |
o Julie will do a full inventory of all Club kit o Personal equipment should be marked and separated from Club kit o No Club kit will be sold without first giving Novices the chance to buy it o Julie will have a large amount of freedom in sorting out equipment as she sees fit o All kit rental costs are frozen, except for semi-dry suit, which will increase to £5.00 per day o Any replacement kit bought to be approved by committee o We target to have kit reduced to 15 full kits. Target breakdown. Going Diving | |
o Alex will get in touch with Joy; Club will cover the costs of the caravans ordered for ET , for the upcoming weekend trip in an attempt to get more people interested o The ET Account will be brought under the same control as the other Accounts | |
Trip Proposals | |
o Still trying to decide a location for Christmas trip o Red Sea a possibility o Must be warm and cheap o Shore diving available when needed o Week before Christmas a possible date o Luke to have definite proposal(s) at next Committee Meeting o ET: Luke to organize ET 2008 for the week before the Easter Bank Holiday, March 14th - Mrch 24th, and it should last for 10 days in and around Lulworth Cove, Dorset o Luke to offer previous ET Tee shirts for sale | |
