Joining OUUEG

If you would like to join OUUEG, please contact the Club Secretary who deals with all the Membership paperwork!! Or of course, any other member of the Club Committee who will be happy to help you. If you are new to diving, please see the "Novice" section of the Training page for information on becoming a diver with OUUEG!

If you have already gained diver qualifications from a diving Agency other than BSAC, (for example PADI), you will also be very welcome! You will be able to dive with us on your existing Agency qualification or you can "cross over" and continue to advance your training under the BSAC system. Have a look at the "Table of Similar Qualifications" on the BSAC SALT page to see the level at which you would cross over, or do consult our if you have any further queries. Not only will joining OUUEG give you access to regs, tanks and stabs for hire, at pretty fair prices, you will also be able to dive off the OUUEG boat!

We hold an introductory meeting at the start of each Academic Year, although of course you can join OUUEG at any time of the year. Keep an eye out for this meeting, as you will be able to learn more about our Club and perhaps, join us on the night!

OUUEG is known to frequent the Cricketer's Arms Pub, Iffley Road on a Tuesday evening, so if you want to meet some Club Members then do pop along! Be warned though that you will rarely find anyone there before 9pm! (Unless there is a Committee Meeting!!)

By far the best way to keep up to speed with what the Club is planning is to join our Mailing List. There are in fact two Lists to be aware of - ouueg and ouueg-chat - the latter being for jokes and general chatter which some tend to want to avoid! All important Club Announcements (such as Dive Trips, Dinners and Meetings) are sent to the ouueg List. If you would like to subscribe, send an e-mail to , while to unsubscribe follow the same procedure, but replace "subscribe" with "unsubscribe".
