Organiser's Notes |
Rachel has planned this trip to the divers mecca of St Abbs on the Scottish Borders. The accommodation in holiday cottages or lodges also allows for one or two non-divers to come along. (There are good coastal walks in the area, castles to visit etc.) The cost for diving (3 days, 2 dives per day) plus accommodation (Fri, Sat and Sun nights) will be very close to £132 per person in total based on 12 divers. Costs on top of this will be air fills, fuel to get there and back, food (of the cheap and cheerful variety) and drinks. This is a great trip for all levels of divers, from those newly qualified at ET to old hands. The diving is easy, not tide-dependent, there are no early morning starts, struggles with kit or long offshore boat trips. Perfect for nervous newbies or lazy old-timers! There are toilets and even showers on the quayside, handy cafes serving drinks and lunches, and the accommodation is only 15 minutes away. The dive boat and accomodation is all booked, there are still a couple of places available as of 15th April We will be diving off "Wave Dancer", and staying in some of the cottages/ lodges - Lodge cottage, Stable cottage or Sunnyside lodge on the Westloch House Estate. St Abbs was one of the first marine reserves in the UK, set up over 25 years ago, and is famous for its abundant underwater life. Read about it here - you can even watch a 'virtual dive'. The Deposit payable to secure a diving place is £50 per person, and is payable to Rachel Locklin ASAP. Send cheques to Rachel at: |
